# Getting Started

> What you need to begin trading on Rialto and how to connect your wallet.

## Before you start

To trade on Rialto you need an EVM-compatible wallet, the asset you want to sell,
and enough of the chain's native token to cover the network fee. Gasless
execution, where available, removes the need to hold the native token for gas.

Rialto trades settle onchain from your own wallet, so you keep custody of your
funds throughout.

## Connect your wallet

1. Go to app.rialto.xyz.
2. Connect your wallet and approve the connection request in your wallet.
3. Confirm your wallet is set to a supported network.

Connecting a wallet does not move any funds or grant access to your assets. You
authorize each trade individually.

## Place your first trade

1. Select the asset you want to sell and the asset you want to buy.
2. Enter the amount. Rialto returns a live quote showing the expected output and
   any fees.
3. Review the quote, then confirm. Approve the transaction or signature in your
   wallet.
4. The trade settles onchain and your balances update on confirmation.

The next pages cover how quotes and pricing work, how to set slippage, and what to
do if a trade does not go through.
